Amber Hahn

Accounting Manager

As Accounting Manager, Amber oversees accounting operations at Sterling.  Her responsibilities include financial statement preparation, financial reporting, general ledger, month end reconciliations, job costing, WIP, accounts payable, and payroll.  Amber works closely with homeowners on construction draws, allowances, and change orders.  She facilitates the construction loan process between homeowners and their lending institutions by establishing, auditing, and submitting construction draw requests.  Amber requests construction surveys and secures builder’s risk insurance on all homes under construction.  She manages Sterling’s trade partner agreements by verifying their general liability insurance and lien waiver requests.  Amber takes pride in her work and it is important to her to reconcile down to the penny!  Amber is a bright addition to the Sterling team and is always friendly and helpful.

Before joining Sterling in April of 2007, Amber co-owned a pet boutique in Lakeway.  She graduated in 1998 from Texas A&M with a BBA in Accounting and has over ten years of accounting experience.

Our management team brings to your project a combined total of over 100 years of construction experience. Duke McDowell personally walks every job site on a regular basis during the construction process. In addition to our extensive construction experience, Duke McDowell, Vick Pope & Gary Grambley are all Certified Graduate Builders (CGB). This is a designation/certification from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), which is overseen by the NAHB CGB Board of Governors. The designation requires that graduates meet prescribed standards of business practice, have proven track records of successful project management, complete a comprehensive education curriculum and have continuing education through approved NAHB courses. The top certification level developed by NAHB for builders is the Graduate Master Builder (GMB). Duke McDowell, Vick Pope & Gary Grambley have received their GMB designations. The GMB certification includes the same requirements as for the CGB designation, plus more course work and extensive experience. Both of these designations are voluntarily earned and not required by law. The NAHB believes earning these designations "provide benchmarks of business achievement that consumers can use to measure builders." They also feel that "when you hire a CGB or GMB, you can expect an experienced builder committed to delivering a quality product" and that it shows "someone who is truly committed to the profession - and that could make the difference in a better house." All these are ideals which Sterling stands behind and believes in for our customers and their homes. Sterling is also committed to the environment. Duke McDowell and Vick Pope have received their Certified Green Professional (CGP) designations. This NAHB designation "recognizes builders and remodelers who incorporate green building principles into homes - without driving up the cost of construction. Class work leading to the designation provides a solid background in green building methods, as well as the tools to reach consumers, from the organization leading the charge to provide market-driven green building solutions to the home building industry."
